Tarrafal is een kustplaats in het noorden van het eiland, bekend om de stranden, de vissersgemeenschap en de omliggende bergen.<\/p>\n<p>Dit is een vrijwilligerservaring in een relatief kleine plaats, in plaats van een plaatsing in een grote stad. Vrijwilligers verblijven in gedeelde accommodatie en werken samen met lokale co\u00f6rdinatoren en projectteams.<\/p>\n<h3>Waar kun je vrijwilligerswerk doen?<\/h3>\n<p>De projecten zijn verdeeld over verschillende gebieden. De juiste keuze hangt daarom vooral af van wat je tijdens je verblijf in Kaapverdi\u00eb wilt doen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Culture Week<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>De Culture Week is bedoeld als kennismaking met het leven in Kaapverdi\u00eb en kan ook voorafgaand aan een vrijwilligersproject worden gevolgd. Activiteiten zijn onder andere het leren van basis-Kriolu, traditionele gerechten koken, lokale markten en historische plekken bezoeken, ambachten maken, boerderijen bezoeken en tijd doorbrengen met lokale vissers.<\/p>\n<p>De week helpt vrijwilligers om de lokale gemeenschap beter te begrijpen en zich meer op hun gemak te voelen in hun nieuwe omgeving voordat ze met hun project beginnen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Engelse les geven<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bij het onderwijsproject ondersteun je lokale leraren en werk je met kinderen in het basisonderwijs. Je helpt met conversatie-Engels en kunt spelletjes, liedjes, verhalen, kunst en andere activiteiten gebruiken om Engels toegankelijker te maken.<\/p>\n<p>De nadruk ligt op het ondersteunen van het bestaande schoolteam, niet op het zelf invoeren van een eigen lesmethode. Je moet goed voorbereid en betrouwbaar zijn en bereid zijn om activiteiten aan te passen aan de behoeften van de kinderen en leraren.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kinderopvang<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bij het kinderopvangproject werk je met jonge kinderen van ongeveer 2 tot 6 jaar. Je ondersteunt lokale medewerkers bij dagelijkse routines, spelen, liedjes, basis-Engels, creatieve activiteiten en andere activiteiten die geschikt zijn voor hun leeftijd.<\/p>\n<p>Het gaat om extra ondersteuning en aandacht naast de lokale medewerkers, niet om het vervangen van hen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sportcoaching<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sportcoaching richt zich op voetbal en basketbal. Je werkt met kinderen van verschillende leeftijden en niveaus en helpt hen hun sportieve vaardigheden te ontwikkelen. Tegelijkertijd stimuleer je teamwork, discipline en zelfvertrouwen.<\/p>\n<p>In de beschikbare informatie wordt eerdere professionele coachingervaring niet als vereiste genoemd. Je moet wel actief willen meedoen en bereid zijn om activiteiten aan te passen aan de groep.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Special Needs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Het Special Needs-project ondersteunt kinderen en jongeren met een beperking in een lokaal zorgcentrum.<\/p>\n<p>Je werkt samen met lokale begeleiders en helpt bij dagelijkse routines, activiteiten, begeleide interactie en andere ondersteuningstaken. Uit de beschikbare informatie blijkt duidelijk dat dit geen gespecialiseerde behandelingsfunctie is. Je werkt onder begeleiding van het lokale team en moet het project met geduld en realistische verwachtingen benaderen.<\/p>\n<p>Je kunt werken met kinderen en jongeren met verschillende beperkingen en extra ondersteuningsbehoeften. Het project past daarom beter bij mensen die zich prettig voelen bij zorgwerk en bij langzamere, op relaties gebaseerde vooruitgang.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bouw &amp; renovatie<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dit is een praktisch project waarbij je scholen en gemeenschappelijke ruimtes in en rond Tarrafal ondersteunt.<\/p>\n<p>Afhankelijk van wat er lokaal nodig is, kun je helpen met schilderwerk, eenvoudige reparaties, timmerwerk, metselwerk, tuin- en landschapswerk, speeltuinen, bibliotheken en andere verbeteringen.<\/p>\n<p>Het exacte werk verschilt afhankelijk van de staat en behoeften van de voorzieningen op dat moment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Schildpaddenbescherming<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Schildpaddenbescherming is een <strong>seizoensgebonden project<\/strong>, dat volgens de beschikbare informatie normaal gesproken van juli tot oktober loopt.<\/p>\n<p>Het werk vindt voornamelijk 's nachts plaats, omdat dan de schildpadden hun eieren leggen. Je kunt deelnemen aan strandpatrouilles, het monitoren van schildpadden en sporen, het beschermen van nesten, werk in de broedplaats, het verzamelen van gegevens, voorlichting aan de lokale gemeenschap en het schoonmaken van stranden.<\/p>\n<p>Bij sommige onderdelen werk je buiten en kan het nodig zijn om op het strand te kamperen. Dit project verschilt daarom behoorlijk van de community-projecten overdag. Het is goed om dit duidelijk te weten voordat je hiervoor kiest.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Landbouw<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bij het landbouwproject werk je samen met lokale boeren op het eiland Santiago.<\/p>\n<p>Taken kunnen bestaan uit het voorbereiden van de grond, planten, oogsten en helpen met dieren. Het werk is fysiek en hangt af van het seizoen en de groeiomstandigheden.<\/p>\n<p>Dit is een goede optie als je meer praktisch bezig wilt zijn en tijd in een landelijke omgeving wilt doorbrengen, in plaats van in een klaslokaal of zorgomgeving te werken.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Medische stage<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>De medische stage heeft een <strong>minimumduur van twee weken<\/strong> en is bedoeld voor medische studenten, zorgprofessionals, verpleegkundigen en andere deelnemers met een passende opleiding.<\/p>\n<p>De stages vinden plaats onder begeleiding en de verantwoordelijkheden hangen af van je opleiding, professionele achtergrond en ervaring. Volgens de beschikbare informatie ligt de focus voornamelijk op KNO en orthopedie.<\/p>\n<p>Mogelijke activiteiten zijn het observeren en ondersteunen van lokale artsen, contact met pati\u00ebnten onder begeleiding, het volgen van klinische routines, voorlichting over gezondheid en andere taken die passen bij je opleidingsniveau.<\/p>\n<p>Dit moet duidelijk worden uitgelegd: het gaat om een begeleide stage, niet om een mogelijkheid voor iemand zonder de juiste opleiding om zelfstandig pati\u00ebnten te behandelen.<\/p>\n<h3>Projecten combineren<\/h3>\n<p>Als er lokaal plaats is, kun je tijdens je verblijf verschillende projecten combineren.<\/p>\n<p>Je kunt bijvoorbeeld beginnen met de Culture Week en daarna een aantal weken lesgeven, kinderopvang, bouw of een ander community-project doen.
