Founder of Abroad Escape
Travel has been a defining part of my life for more than two decades.
Growing up in Belgium, I always wanted to explore the world beyond my own borders. After graduating with a degree in Communications, I set off on a one-year round-the-world trip that would ultimately change the direction of my life.
During that journey, I discovered Asia for the first time. What began as a visit quickly became a much longer chapter, and I spent the next five years living in Asia, studying Japanese and Chinese, teaching, travelling, and gaining a deeper understanding of different cultures and communities.
After returning to Europe, I spent ten years working as a business consultant in London before eventually returning to the travel industry.
Over the years I have founded and developed several travel businesses, including Gap Experience Asia Limited and later Abroad Escape. Throughout that time, I have worked with travel providers, local organisations, and partners across multiple destinations while helping travellers plan meaningful experiences around the world.
Abroad Escape was created with a simple goal: helping travellers discover destinations, cultures, and experiences with greater confidence and better information.
Today, I continue to combine my passion for travel with years of industry experience to help travellers explore the world in a way that suits their interests, budget, and travel style.
