A Quick Note on 2026 Travel
Some Asia routes are taking longer because of current airspace disruption, but Bali, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Cambodia and Nepal remain open for volunteers. If you prefer easier routes from Europe or the UK, start with Portugal, Spain, Cape Verde, Kenya or Zanzibar. Message us before booking flights and we’ll help you compare the realistic options.

Placements are operated through our long-standing partner network, including The Green Lion, with local teams, coordinators, accommodation, meals, airport pickup, and in-country support on most programs.

Safety, Support and Parents

Parents are welcome to contact us before booking. We answer practical questions about safety, accommodation, local support, flights, visas, project suitability, and what happens after arrival.

FAQ

Is volunteering abroad safe?

Yes, when it is properly organised. Our programs include local coordinators, structured accommodation, orientation, and 24/7 emergency support.

Do I need experience?

For most projects, no. Teaching, childcare, community, construction, conservation, and culture programs are usually open to beginners. Medical placements require relevant study or qualifications.

When can I start?

Most programs start every Monday year-round. Many travellers join for 1–4 weeks, but some programs can run up to 24 weeks depending on destination.

Can my parents contact you?

Yes. Parents can message us before booking. We answer safety, accommodation, support, and arrival questions personally.

Lynn

"The volunteering was mind-expanding and deeply rewarding. The local people are the friendliest I have encountered anywhere in the world. That alone would make it worth doing, the work on top of that made it something I will carry with me for a long time."

Annelies

"The program was well run and the support from the coordinator was wonderful throughout. These were the best two weeks I have had in a long time — I felt genuinely helpful, and genuinely part of the program rather than an observer. I enjoyed every single minute of it. Thank you."

Noor

"I had a really meaningful time. I learned a great deal about the culture and the people — their daily life, their traditions, the way they treat each other. By the end it was actually starting to feel like home. The people and the children were so warm and welcoming. I loved spending time with them. Thank you for making this possible."
