I've been involved in volunteer and meaningful travel since 2006.
Over the years, I've seen some very good volunteer experiences, and I've also seen situations where the reality didn't quite match what someone expected.
That's one of the reasons I wanted to put this handbook together.
You don't need to know everything before you go.
But I do think it's worth asking the right questions before you choose a program and before you get on the plane.
