TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The following terms and conditions constitute a legally binding agreement between you (the "Participant") and Abroad Escape Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom ("Abroad Escape", "We", "Us"). By submitting your online application and paying the Registration Fee, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these terms in full.

1. BOOKING AND PAYMENTS

1.1. Role of Abroad Escape

Abroad Escape acts as a professional placement and support agency. We facilitate your application, provide pre-departure orientation, and secure your placement with our local partner organisations. Your contract for local travel services (including accommodation, meals, and project logistics) is held directly with the local provider, TGL (The Green Lion).

1.2. The Registration Fee (Deposit)

To secure your placement, a non-refundable Registration Fee of £250 | €295 | $320 per person is required at the time of booking.

• Nature of Fee: You acknowledge that this fee is paid to Abroad Escape Ltd for the immediate service of processing your application, creating your profile, and managing the administrative setup of your placement.

• Refund Policy: As these services are rendered immediately upon booking, the Registration Fee is non-refundable.

• Flexi-Deposit Promise: If you cancel your booking at least 56 days before departure, your Registration Fee will be held as a Programme Credit valid for 12 months from the date of payment.

1.3. Local Programme Fee (The Balance)

The remaining balance for your programme (the "Local Programme Fee") is the cost of your on-ground services provided by TGL.

• Payment Method: This balance is paid directly to TGL via international bank transfer or their designated secure payment link.

• Deadline: Payment must be received no later than 8 weeks (56 days) before your programme start date.

• Independence of Funds: Abroad Escape Ltd does not hold, manage, or accept responsibility for the Local Programme Fee. Any bank transfer fees or transaction costs are the responsibility of the participant.

2. CANCELLATION BY YOU (THE PARTICIPANT)

2.1. Notice

Cancellation must be made in writing via email. The cancellation is effective from the date we receive this notification.

2.2. Cancellation Charges

Because we and our local partners incur costs from the moment you book, the following charges apply based on the date of notice:

• No-Show / Early Departure: If you fail to join the programme or leave early for any reason, no refund will be issued by Abroad Escape or TGL.

• Travel Insurance: We cannot make exceptions for personal emergencies or visa denials. You are strictly required to take out comprehensive Travel Insurance to cover these risks.

3. CANCELLATION OR CHANGES

3.1. Changes by Local Partners: We and our partner TGL reserve the right to make necessary changes to itineraries or projects due to local circumstances. Suitable alternatives will be provided.

3.2. Cancellation: If a programme is cancelled by us or TGL (e.g., due to low numbers or force majeure), you will receive a full refund of all monies paid or a free transfer to an alternative date. Abroad Escape is not responsible for secondary costs such as flight tickets.

4. INSURANCE (MANDATORY)

It is a strict condition of booking that you possess valid Travel Insurance. Your policy must include cover for medical expenses, repatriation, personal liability, and cancellation.

5. LIABILITY & RISK

5.1. Assumption of Risk: You acknowledge that volunteering in developing countries involves inherent risks. You accept these risks voluntarily.

5.2. Limitation of Liability: Abroad Escape Ltd acts as an agent and excludes liability for acts, omissions, or failures of third-party suppliers, local transport providers, or the local partner TGL. Nothing in these terms seeks to exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our proven negligence.

6. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England & Wales. The courts of England & Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
